Gate guarding at Briggs Ranch Hwy 133 Catarina, Tx

Frac Tanks going out

Yep we are still here on this lovely ranch where the gate has been very slow for the past few weeks, But we know that that too can’t keep going and any day we may get the move on to yet another gate notice. The company man told us yesterday that we might have another weekend we said good :) keep those weeks coming.

Today they came in and picked up another 4 of the Frac trailers. They started on that project about 5 days ago, I guess that they didn’t get the frac started where ever they are taking them to .

This is what you can see of the Drilling Rig as viewed from our oil well pad

The last part of last week they moved another drilling rig onto the ranch yes it is at another gate to the ranch and they put another gate guard down there. We also had the Survey team in again laying out three more pads to drill wells. It looks like they have plans for this ranch to be busy for a while as one of the company men with the survey team told us that they plan to drill at least 56 wells on this 8,000 acres.

Our Blaack bird is a Crackle

Our Black bird with the long tail showed up again and it got the best of us and we had to get the bird book out and have determined that he is we think a Crackle. The book shows that we are right on the edge of there area of travel. I got to make a trip into Carrizo Springs yesterday to get a hair cut.( found out that he is closed on Mondays) But I saw about 10 or so of the Crackles over there.

The Border Patrol came out and picked up the unwanted and I must say their response time was great

We also had an unwanted visitor yesterday. Yep one of the guys that you see out here with a gallon water jug and a back pack. You guessed it an Illegal. he was standing just outside our gate so after a few minutes of us staring at each other I called the Border Patrol and they told me to close the gate (we have 10′ high gates and fence)until they could get here. While as soon as I closed the gates he started walking on down the road where the patrol picked him up about a 1/4 mile away. The patrol person told us that he(the illegal) had gotten seperated from the group that he came across with and had spent 2 days lost in the brush.Hungry and thursty he had deside to find a highway to get picked up.

I’ve been reading your blog to learn more about gate guarding. Did you just take a break at the end of May 2011?? If you don’t mind answering a couple questions, which company do you work for? I’m trying to follow all the blogs on this subject. I follow Myoldrv and the FORK and Kit and Jerry.

Give me a quick comment on your thoughts.
